CD-a-Day: Heart-Broken-Track Edition

The Buzzkill Romantics: Aftermath of Love

Released at their farewell show and limited to only 100 copies, this 5-song EP is remarkable for it's completeness. I listened through it a couple times today, and felt really good about the songs each time: Not too much, not too little. It's a shame, really, that this was the sendoff, as it feels more like the Buzzkills were hitting their stride.

But that's rock-&-roll for you. What's not so rocking is the faulty pressing of the last track. Throughout, the song skips and jumps, and it's not my disc...they were pressed that way. I remember hearing something about getting a bad master, or accidentally giving the faulty one to the factory when they had a good one in hand...either way, it was a little depressing when they gave the CD to me with an apology and a shrug.

Training in the Sun

As I mentioned yesterday, I'm trying to "bring it back". Today, I went for a short walk to a park out behind my work, and went through my forms in the sun (Thank You, God, for the sun today!). It was nice and tiring, even as little as I did. However, tonight I felt pretty good going through my lesson. I'm glad my muscle memory isn't as forgetful as I thought it might be.

I'd like to eat better, to help lose some of the weight that's holding me down. For now, I'm trying to avoid soda, drink lots of water, and try to balance my meals out a little better. As I go, I'll likely focus more on my specific dietary choices, but one step at a time.

I need to stretch a lot this weekend.
